I've now tried to introduce the Linksys WRT54G router in between the computer and the fixture hard lined with ethernet cables. Hard to tell which protocol is being used - other than what's stated in the manual chp. Also for permanent installs you may only need to control white wash. If you only need a wireless 'jump' to the wireles light from the controller wirwless the rest can be cabled then Artnet could also work and would be your best option if you are using a full universe of fixtures.

By intermission, control was super laggy again.

I use art-net all the time. When there is no subscription, Lightjams will fallback to the broadcast mode to allow backward compatibility with older ArtNET nodes.
